Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bar Militia Calisthenics ("we", "us") collects when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We're a calisthenics community based in Geelong, VIC, and we run this site to help our members train, track progress, and stay connected.

Information we collect

When you create an account or use the site, we collect:

• Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, GitHub, or another provider, we receive your name, email, and avatar from that provider.
• Profile information — anything you choose to add: display name, bio, location, profile photo, fitness goals, unit preference.
• Training data — workouts you complete, skills you mark as achieved, personal bests, body metrics (weight and other measurements you log), and items you favourite.
• Contact form submissions — name, email, enquiry type, and message when you contact us through the site.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) used to operate the site and protect against abuse.

How we use your information

• To provide the site — signing you in, saving your progress, generating your stats and leaderboards.
• To communicate with you — responding to enquiries, sending workout reminders or community updates if you've opted in.
• To keep the site running and secure — preventing abuse, debugging issues, monitoring performance.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Where your data is stored

The site runs on Cloudflare. Your account and training data are stored in Cloudflare D1 (a serverless SQL database) and Cloudflare KV. Workout and skill content is managed in Sanity CMS. Transactional emails (contact replies, password resets, verification) are sent through Resend. These providers each have their own privacy policies that cover how they handle data on our behalf.

What's public vs private

Most of your data is private to your account. The exceptions:

• Your display name and rank may appear on public leaderboards. You can opt out at any time from account settings.
• If we add public profile pages in the future, we'll let you control what's visible.

Your choices

• Access and update — view and edit your profile and training data from your account pages.
• Notifications — turn email and push notifications on or off in account settings.
• Leaderboards — opt out of appearing on public leaderboards in account settings.
• Delete — you can delete your account from account details. Deletion removes your profile, training data, achievements, and metrics. Some operational logs may be retained for a short period as required for security.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the site.
